Coronavirus Could Kill Consumer Christianity
I believe the author of this article has it right. Maybe this is a wake-up call to Christians, especially in the American context, to re-think what it means to be the Christians. The author concludes what has been my preaching for years: "...commit to a faith that is costly, inconvenient, and uncomfortable. Discomfort is painful, to be sure, but it is a clarifying gift. The truth is, following Jesus was never meant to be easy (Matt. 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 14:27). Discipleship was never meant to be consumer-friendly. Church was never meant to be comfortable." Read and share. Enjoy it.
A blog for the exploration of theological and cultural issues in American society from a Latino perspective. I want to address current theological, philosophical, political, and public policy issues that impact the lives of everyone in the United States.

Indeed it is a wake up call to christians not only in the Americn context but also to christians all over the world. The article is also an eye opener for the leaders for making it a consumer christianity.

Pastor Wankhede, thank you for your note. I am glad that you found the post helpful. As you can imagine no one is traveling anywhere for the meantime (for mission or for vacations). I hope and pray that we might connect at somepoint next year and talk about the mission possibilities in your community. Blessings,
