Check out this powerful video of a person sharing her faith because she is a scientist (and an actor). Listen and share.
A blog for the exploration of theological and cultural issues in American society from a Latino perspective. I want to address current theological, philosophical, political, and public policy issues that impact the lives of everyone in the United States.

The American Scholar: James Baldwin's America - Thomas Chatterton Williams
Great book review. Indeed, this review presents truths both hard and timeless. A powerful critique to our rosy world as Americans. This reminds me of a conversation that took place in a class I am teaching about immigration and the American experience. The person in the group told the group that the documentary we had just watched as a class was disturbing to because it spoke of the USA as an imperial country. Even thought the evidence was there the person refused to accept that the USA has been, and continues to be, an imperial power; controlling people's lives around the world. For this student to be patriotic was to reject this notion of imperialism because it clashes with their notion of what they believe their country stands for: we are the good guys, we do not do those things that other countries have done (i.e., England, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, etc.) against people in the world. So, check out the review, get the book. Read and share!
