Critical Race Theory: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

Powerful explanation of Critical Race Theory as part of the John Oliver show. The reality is that most people do not understand nor know what is it that they do not like. People just repeat what the people they venerate say and take face value without any research. This is worth sharing.

Good Theology Creates Good Politics | CONSPIRE 2021 | Day One

Great Presentation by Father Richard Rohr. In this seventh and final CONSPIRE conference, Fr. Richard sums up why and how the seven themes of Alternative Orthodoxy emerge from the Perennial Tradition and create a coherent and compelling worldview.  Yet, as a whole, they were seldom mainline Christianity in the first 2000 years. The Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) is an educational nonprofit introducing seekers to the contemplative Christian path of transformation. The CAC was founded by Richard Rohr in 1987, the CAC is designed to help deepen prayer practice and strengthen compassionate engagement in the world. Enjoy and share.

Yes, Virginia, There is Such a Thing as History, by Professor Diana Butler Bass

History is not just something nice we learn about the past, it is what we learn about the power struggles human beings have confronted to keep the wheel of life turning. History can be used to justify exploitation and oppression or it can be used as a tool for human liberation and fulfillment. We all have to decide how we read history and use history because history is not an objective enterprise, it is a human enterprise, and, therefore, it should be explored with all its complexities and ruffles.

The article below is a great lesson about the importance of history by Professor : https://dianabutlerbass.substack.com/p/yes-virginia-there-is-such-a-thing?utm_source=email-ufi&utm_medium=email

What if…we quit offering United Methodist worship?

Article's title: What if…we quit offering United Methodist worship? Follow the link:  https://hackingchristianity.net/2022/07/what-if-we-quit-offering-united-methodist-worship-guest-post.html

This article was shared with me and I thought you will find it interesting. This is a great article regarding the Church's focus on worship disconnected from discipleship making. We have been called to make disciples and worship is an aspect of discipleship but Christian life cannot be reduced to worship separate from living in the world. The author pay special attention to the UMC's experience. Powerful challenge to the present state of the Church in America. Enjoy the reading.

An ‘imposter Christianity’ is threatening American democracy

Great article on the threat that the values of white Christian nationalism represent to Biblical values. An article worth reading and sharing.
